License and Certification Qualifications: Must hold or be eligible for a valid Georgia Educator's Certificate in Educational Leadership and/or Support Personnel License issued by the Georgia Professional Standards Commission. Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) certification preferred.

Education Qualifications: Bachelor's degree required.

Experience Qualifications: Three years data center experience required. Experience in managing data center operations preferred.

Primary Responsibilities: Manage the Data Center Services (DCS) team by developing, enhancing, and maintaining information technology services as modeled by the Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) standards.

1. Manage DCS in compliance with the ITIL standards.
a. Collaborate with other departments in the Information Management and Technology Division (IMT) to develop, manage, and maintain Service Level Agreements (SLA) for internal customers.
b. Collaborate with external suppliers and the district as needed to develop, manage, and maintain SLA.
c. Collaborate with the district to develop, manage, and maintain Operational Level Agreements (OLA).
d. Report performance measures of service delivery to both IMT internal and external stakeholders.
e. Coordinate the successful adoption of new processes and tasks for DCS team responsibility.
f. Ensure proper response to service issues as defined and agreed by supervisor.
g. Maintain accountability for configuring the monitoring and reporting systems necessary to accommodate and facilitate the SLA adoption as they are assimilated into the DCS environment.

2. Manage DCS and staff operations.
a. Determine performance objectives of staff and coordinate staff training.
b. Perform staff evaluations for the DCS team.
c. Identify and arrange for training for the DCS team.
d. Develop processes and workflow for the DCS team.
e. Manage the delivery of assigned work to the DCS team.
f. Serve or schedule alternatives as shift operator when the regularly scheduled DCS Technician is absent.
g. Monitor and update duties of the team to meet changing organizational needs.
h. Ensure operational procedures and schedules are followed and completed successfully.
i. Ensure all output media are properly secured before releasing from the data center.
j. Utilize the job scheduler to optimize processing of jobs.
k. Ensure proper internal documentation and vendor documentation is developed and maintained.
l. Assist the Direct of Infrastructure Services in developing the data center road map and budget which includes advisement on recommended system upgrades, advisement on alternatives when vendors announce withdrawal of product support, and forecasts for hardware and software costs.

3. Manage the data center infrastructure.
a. Monitor and ensure sufficient electrical and cooling capacity.
b. Monitor and ensure the power distribution unit and generator are functioning properly.
c. Monitor and ensure the fire suppression system is properly maintained.
d. Ensure the data center security is functioning properly and perform security audits.

4. Manage the data center equipment.
a. Ensure printers, servers, tape drives, and disk storage devices are properly maintained.
b. Ensure all equipment warranties are in place and preventive maintenance schedules are followed.
c. Ensure consumable supplies, toner, paper, and forms are stocked.
d. Serve as the technical contact for vendor support services.
e. Ensure proper documentation is provided and updated for each piece of equipment added or removed from the data center.

5. Maintain positive interdepartmental relations.
a. Act as the liaison between departments in IMT for establishing and reporting service monitoring.
b. Work with divisional staff in a professional manner.

6. Provide continuous quality improvement to departmental processes.
a. Perform continuous evaluation of departmental processes and recommend methods to improve operations.

7. Perform other duties as assigned.

Physical Demands:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit for extended periods of time. The employee is also required to talk, hear, stand, and walk. The employee may be required to use hands to finger, handle, feel, and/or reach. The employee is occasionally required to stoop, kneel, or crouch. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
