License and Certification Qualifications: Valid Georgia teaching certification required. Early Childhood certification and/or concentration preferred. Coaching endorsement required (can be obtained after employment).

Education Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in a related field required. Master's degree in a related field preferred.

Experience Qualifications: Three years of successful teaching experience required. Experience with delivering professional learning opportunities, the development of pre- and in-service teachers, and working with best practices in early learning, kindergarten, curriculum development, and classroom implementation.

Skills Qualifications: Ability to organize and complete multiple tasks/projects concurrently; ability to create and deliver professional learning that supports the vision, mission, and goals of the Early Learning and School Readiness Department and the district; strong communication skills, both in oral and written format; knowledge of the change process and ability to help teachers/leaders make sense of change; ability to be flexible in thinking and to adapt work to the needs of teachers/leaders; strong technology skills, including the use of the Microsoft Office Suite; knowledge and application of research-based instructional strategies; ability to work successfully with colleagues; ability to project and generate a positive attitude; and ability to effect change.

Primary Responsibilities: Responsible for professional learning development and delivery, data collection and evaluation, and various tasks that support the development, revision, implementation, and improvement for teaching and learning in kindergarten and early learning settings.

1. Develop and facilitatehigh-quality professional development opportunities based on district,program, and local school needs as determined by various data sources.
a. Leverage professional learning best practices.
b. Utilize and align the Quality-Plus TeachingStrategies when designing and implementing professional learning.
c. Use pedagogical and content-specific knowledgeto support teaching and learning.
d. Collect data to measure effectiveness ofprofessional learning in improving knowledge and skills.
e. Provide implementation support that is differentiated,based on need, to maximize transfer of professional learning.
f. Monitor implementation and collectdata to measure transfer of professional learning into practice.
g. Improve instructional practices andstudent outcomes.

2. Support the implementation of job-embeddedprofessional learning in local schools and community early learning providers.
a. Provide professional learning support alignedto the Local School Plans for Improvement (LSPI) and Strategic Goals andPriorities.
b. Facilitate learning by observations, lookingat student work, and supporting data analysis.
c. Leverage a variety of assessment tools anddata sources to measure improvement.
d. Improve instructional practices and studentoutcomes.

3. Manage multiple projects through strong organization,detailed plans, and balancing of multiple priorities.
a. Summarize work on a regular basis and maintainopen communication regarding the status of projects.
b. Complete tasks with high quality under defineddeadlines to ensure exemplary daily performance.
c. Improve instructional practices and studentoutcomes.

4. Communicate to various internal and external audiencesconcerning best practices and information regarding kindergarten readinessand kindergarten.
a. Interpret district and program philosophy,goals, and objectives to various audiences.
b. Share information to appropriate personnelregarding current research, knowledge, and trends regarding kindergartenreadiness and kindergarten.
c. Partner and collaborate with other coachesand specialists and community partners supporting kindergarten and earlylearning.
d. Improve instructional practices and student outcomes and bringoverall awareness to the importance of early learning.

5. Engage in continuous development of coaching skillsand practices.
a Participate in coaching and teacher leaderprofessional development opportunities.
b. Utilize professional learning resources tosupport personal development.
c. Implement research based coaching practices.
d. Ensure best practices are utilized for allduties.

6. Perform other duties as assigned.

Physical Demands:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit for extended periods of time. The employee is also required to talk, hear, stand, and walk. The employee may be required to use hands to finger, handle, feel, and/or reach. The employee is occasionally required to stoop, kneel, or crouch. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
