The Custodial Zone Coordinator will plan and organize custodial services ensuring attractive, clean, and safe facilities in which to learn and work.
QUALIFICATIONS: High School diploma or equivalent required; Five (5) years of work related experience required; Two (2) years of supervisory experience required; Considerable knowledge of methods, materials, and equipment used in custodial work; Knowledge of occupational hazards, safety precautions, cleaning agents and related products and their possible reactions; Must have a valid Georgia Driver’s license and a good driving record; Class B endorsement preferred; Experience in Google and Microsoft Office Suite; Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate. SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Ability to work from sketches, blueprints, and oral and written instructions; Must have excellent organizational skills; Must have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES: Ensure all custodial tasks and standards are accomplished within assigned zone as prescribed in the Custodial Handbook; Direct work flow, distribution and productivity by providing the Head Custodians instruction, support and direction; Coordinate with the Head Custodians in assigning individual custodial work zones, tasks, and schedules to be accomplished within the individual buildings/sites; Explain priorities for completion of individual tasks and special priorities for completion of individual tasks and special projects to Head Custodians and individual custodians; Resolve problems associated with school/site assignments and disagreements; Ensure safe working conditions for students, faculty and staff; Train and instruct custodial staff in proper and safe ways to perform custodial services and the sate operation and maintenance of equipment; Review custodial work to ensure compliance with standards; Prepare Head Custodians performance evaluations and assist them in preparing individual custodian’s performance evaluations; Maintain records of employees’ hours worked and inventories of supplies/materials at the sites; Review labor processes to ensure accuracy of tasks, material use, and labor expended; Assist in the development of assignments, schedules and calendars; Perform daily, weekly and monthly building inspections; Keep accurate records and reports; Assist the Custodial Services Supervisor in conducting, recording, and correcting Environmental Reviews; Able to comprehend and expedite given instructions; Performs other tasks as assigned by the Supervisor.

SALARY RANGE: Twelve-month contract with salary to be established by the DCSS.
