License and Certification Qualifications: None required.

Education Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent required. Post-secondary education preferred.

Experience Qualifications: None required. One to three years of clerical support with computer experience preferred.

Skills Qualifications: Ability to communicate courteously using grammatically correct English with the general public, school students, and school staff; ability to follow oral and written instructions quickly and accurately; typing and basic bookkeeping skills; ability to interface with computer programs as required; clerical skills of typing, filing, etc.

Primary Responsibilities: Provide general clerical support to the school assigned, receive visitors and telecommunications courteously and efficiently, and perform general financial, accounting and registrar duties.

1. Perform general secretarial duties.
a. Prepare and transcribe various reports, forms, memos, and letters as assigned.
b. Prepare work orders, purchase orders, and/or item orders of varying types from oral and written requests according to local school and school system procedures.

2. Perform general clerical duties.
a. Organize and maintain files including but not limited to school correspondence, student enrollment, confidential materials, inventories, work orders, purchase orders, and local school administrative reference materials.

3. Perform registrar functions.
a. Complete all functions necessary to register high school students, including a class schedule and computer grade reporting.

4. Perform general financial/accounting duties.
a. Maintain ledgers and financial reports accurately and timely as assigned.
b. Maintain various logs, accounting sheets, control sheets, and other financial, attendance, accounting, and inventory records accurately and timely as assigned.
c. Receive, deposit, disburse, and account for school funds according to local school and school system policies and procedures.

5. Communicate with other adults and students in a businesslike, courteous, and efficient manner.
a. Maintain and be able to communicate a general working knowledge of local school and school system public information, policies, procedures, and events.

6. Perform other duties as assigned.

Physical Demands:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit for extended periods of time. Employee is also required to talk, hear, stand, and walk. The employee may be required to use hands to finger, handle, feel, and/or reach. Employee is occasionally required to stoop, kneel, or crouch. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
