POSITION: School Nutrition Services (SNS) Technology Specialist

LOCATION: School Nutrition


JOB SUMMARY:

The SNS Technology Specialist will provide support for all School Nutrition Services software applications and assist in the design, implementation and operation of School Nutrition Services Systems and/or networks.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor’s degree in computer technology, telecommunication, computer science or related field; Minimum of three years’ experience in technology with proven successful work record; Working knowledge of various computer hardware and software, including but not limited to Microsoft Suites, Google and USDA approved nutritional analysis software and point of service software; Knowledge and proficiency in web-based application support; Knowledge of computer networks and infrastructure; Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Superintendent and the Board may find appropriate.
SKILLS and ABILITIES: Excellent communication and organizational skills; Ability to detect and resolve technical or technology-related problems and failures; Strong project management skills. PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES: Reviews, analyzes, and recommends new and enhanced systems and/or networking capabilities for communication to stakeholders related to school nutrition programs; Follows work schedule and attendance requirements in a regular, predictable, and punctual manner; Assists with the annual bid process; Provides day to day support for all nutrition software applications; Performs nutrition software installation, testing and quality assurance; Manages vendor support for nutrition equipment replacements and installation projects; Trains and supports school nutrition users and school-based employees using nutrition software suite; Conducts analysis and creates reports using exports and extracts from Nutrition Information Systems, Manages security, troubleshooting, and correction of any SNS system issues; Implements major system upgrades, lead integration projects and represents SNS on external teams; Monitors and maintains smart temperature for connectivity issues daily; Inputs menus in smart temperature software and updates as needed; Participates as part of leadership team in the development and evaluation of new application enhancements and solutions; Monitors and maintains software and hardware functionality to minimize system downtime at central office and school sites; Performs system administration tasks to include password resets and access to applications; Maintains and updates SNS website and Nutrislice menu software; Handles Horizon receiving issues at school level with invoice and stock transfers; Maintains price updates and adds new inventory items in the Horizon system; Provides support to applicable systems and networks through training and troubleshooting; Maintains current knowledge of the latest technology in computer applications, i.e. websites and social media; Facilitates all software upgrades, updates, and annual rollover; Assists with the Community Eligibility Program (CEP) certification process as needed; Provides support, but not limited to, hands on repairs at the site level of all computer hardware and software; Provides remote support to SNS through VNC software and in-house developed applications; Supports the Georgia School Nutrition Association by actively being involved and growing our district membership engagement with district activities; Monitors daily student information imports and ensure daily exports to school sites; Promotes own professionalism through associations, professional groups and seminars. Attendance is required at SNS trainings, seminars, workshops and leadership meetings; Maintains data backup routines to ensure data integrity; Performs other duties as assigned.
REPORTS TO: Food Service Administrator

SALARY RANGE: Competitive salary and excellent benefits package, in accordance with the DCSS Compensation Guide.
