POSITION: Inventory Management Specialist

LOCATION: Logistical Services


The Inventory Management Specialist will provide courteous, quality, and efficient service to the schools of Dougherty County, ensuring every student has access to essential supplies by maintaining textbook, instructional and custodial inventories. The Inventory Management Specialist will maintain accurate records of Warehouse Inventories for the Dougherty County School Systems, including receiving, compliance, delivery, and adjustments.

QUALIFICATIONS: High School graduate or equivalent; Experience in Microsoft Suites and Google Suites; Knowledge of and proficiency in data entry and general computer skills are required; Must possess the physical ability to perform the essential duties of the job; Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate.
SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Excellent customer service skills; Excellent communication, interpersonal and organizational skills; Ability to collect, sort, prepare and scan documents, and label them for easy identification; Ability to ensure that all records are properly updated, and maintained in an accurate and confidential manner; Ability to lift up to 50lbs.; Ability to operate warehouse equipment.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES: Verifies warehouse supply orders on a daily basis for all DCSS schools and locations; Ships all packages using UPS, FedEx, and other freight carriers; Responsible for placement and labeling of all warehouse stock; Responsible for the receipt and distribution of all supplies that flow through the DCSS central warehouse, and processes receipts and requisitions for all supplies in NextGen; Maintains organization of the warehouse; Barcodes fixed asset equipment that is received at the DCSS central warehouse; Responsible for filing and keeping accurate records on all stock orders; Receives, stocks, and issues textbooks from textbook depository; Maintains the inventory for the Central Textbook Depository; Responsible for all textbook transfers between schools and the Central Depository; Processes transfers of all textbook inventories between schools; Assists School Textbook Coordinators with end-of-year inventories as needed; Schedules and performs annual end-of-year textbook inventories in selected locations; Reconciles Destiny Library Manager Inventory of student devices to asset inventory; Updates Library Manager with transfers, retags, and new student devices; Assists School Property Control Clerk in locating missing or transferred devices; Maintains records for the temporary assignment of student devices; Maintains records of Surplus Warehouse inventory and sale of surplus equipment; Conducts annual physical inventory of warehouse supplies; Cross-trains in other positions within the Supply Services Department; Performs such alternatives to the above requirements as the Board or supervisor may find appropriate.
REPORTS TO: Warehouse Coordinator

SALARY RANGE: Twelve-month year. Salary and work year to be established by the Board.
