License and Certification Qualifications: None required.

Education Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent required. Bachelor's degree in related field preferred.

Experience Qualifications: Three years in an office/clerical environment preferred. Experience with a variety of software programs such as PeopleSoft and Microsoft Office programs, and technical equipment preferred.

Skills Qualifications: Ability to communicate with others in an effective and tactful manner; ability to exercise independent judgment, troubleshoot, and solve problems; ability to follow oral and written instructions quickly and accurately; ability to speak effectively when advising employees; excellent telephone and public relations skills; ability to work as part of a team; flexibility and adaptability to change; ability to represent Gwinnett County Public Schools in a positive and professional manner; ability to work across functional boundaries and interact with employees at all levels of the organization; and strong computer skills with a working knowledge of Microsoft Office required. Knowledge of PeopleSoft preferred.

Primary Responsibilities: Responsible for providing world-class customer service by greeting visitors and guests at the Information Management and Technology reception area and assisting with specific duties in the Information Management and Technology (IMT) Division.

1. Provide world-class customer service by serving as the receptionist to greet visitors, guests, and co-workers at the IMT Division complex and respond to inquiries with accurate information or direct to the appropriate personnel for issue resolution.
a. Answer IMT telephone lines and accurately and professionally respond to inquiries, forward/transfer telephone calls, and/or take messages.
b. Notify the appropriate personnel of arriving visitors, messages, and/or dropped-off items.

2. Process and schedule requests for usage of the IMT conference rooms in a timely manner.

3. Process incoming mail, courier mail, and daily deliveries and maintain a clean and organized work environment.

4. Provide general clerical support for the IMT Division as needed.
a. Work proficiently with the Microsoft Office Program Suite as needed to assist with various tasks and projects.

5. Communicate with all parties in a businesslike, courteous, and efficient manner.
a. Handle internal and external customers graciously and effectively.
b. Represent the district professionally in all aspects of communication.
c. Help cultivate a responsive and customer centered climate.

6. Cooperate with and maintain a positive relationship with all other school system employees.

7. Perform other duties as assigned.

Physical Demands:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit for extended periods of time. The employee is also required to talk, hear, stand, and walk. The employee may be required to use hands to touch, handle, feel, and/or reach. The employee is occasionally required to stoop, kneel, or crouch. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
