Must hold or be eligible for a valid Georgia Educator's Certificate in Educational Leadership and/or Support Personnel License issued by the Georgia Professional Standards Commission.

Masters degree in related field required. Specialist or doctorate degree in related field preferred.

Strong leadership skills and project management experience; ability to think strategically with appropriate level of detail analysis to plan and execute; excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to establish and foster productive working relationships with stakeholders and staff to develop partnerships and enhance collaboration; excellent organizational and human relations skills; strong analytical and problem-solving skills; ability to conceptualize abstract models/issues and deliver effective solutions to stakeholders; ability to transform data into meaningful information in reporting and presentation formats; and unquestionable integrity and dedication to the principles of developing a strong, coherent organization. Extensive knowledge of current and evolving federal, state, and district requirements related to equity issues. Demonstrated experience in effectively working and communicating with students, parents, community representatives, and school personnel. Ability to collect, analyze, and use student assessment and other school data

Work Experience
Ten years of progressively responsible district or school leadership experience required in a dynamic and results-oriented position responsible for developing and monitoring initiatives around student equity and performance, or in a related field.Equity professional with experience leading large school districts (or other large organizations) to implement scalable diversity and inclusion initiatives.

Provide leadership for ensuring equitable educational opportunities for all students through the alignment of the district's equity plan with local school plans for improvement, and for advancing the vision, mission, and strategic goals established by Gwinnett County Public Schools CEO/Superintendent and Board of Education.


1. Facilitate development and implementation of the district's equity plan as required under the federal Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA; Pub.L. 114 - 95) and oversee the alignment of the district's equity plan with all local school plans for improvement.

2. Provide leadership for the implementation of the district's equity plan and regularly report on progress toward goals.

3. Provide coordination, consultation, and assistance to all division chiefs and other senior leaders on equity issues related to students, staff, and parents.

4. Facilitate the identification of district and school actions and supports that are provided to ensure all students are college and career ready.

5. Collaborate with district leadership to develop and implement a systematic process for identifying and addressing inequalities that impede student engagement and academic achievement.

6. Develop, implement, and promote district and school-based approaches that maximize community engagement in the work of the school.

7. Utilize appropriate data sources to collect and analyze information relative to the district's diversity and the equitable allocation of resources and opportunities.

8. Oversee and ensure district- and school-level compliance with federal and state laws, board policies, and administrative procedures.

9. Conduct an ongoing review of the application of relevant board policies and administrative procedures in local schools. Recommend appropriate changes to policy and/or procedure to ensure that schools and the district provide equitable opportunities, support, and resources that all students need to achieve educational success.

10. Perform other duties as assigned.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit for extended periods of time. The employee is also required to talk, hear, stand, and walk. The employee may be required to use hands to finger, handle, feel, and/or reach. The employee is occasionally required to stoop, kneel, or crouch. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
