License and Certification Qualifications: Valid Georgia Educational Leadership certificate required.

Education Qualifications: Master's degree in related field required.

Experience Qualifications: Three years of successful experience in education or a closely related field required.

Skills Qualifications: Thorough knowledge of the policies and procedures of the school system; ability to work with administration, teachers, students, and the community to interpret the philosophy of the community education program; proficiency in oral and written communications; ability to organize work and assist others to organize tasks in an effective manner; demonstrated skills in interpersonal relations; demonstrated skills in planning; and knowledge of most effective practices in management and finance.

Primary Responsibilities: Provide leadership in the development, implementation, and evaluation of a comprehensive community school program in the local school service area as a member of the local school administration team.

1. Oversee the planning initiatives associated with the community school program.
a. Plan and implement a community education program that broadens education objectives for all ages across the school community.
b. Ensure that the community school program meets the needs of the community through education, enrichment, recreational, technical, and cultural experiences.
c. Assist with the implementation of lifelong learning opportunities for the community and ensure that the school is established as a center of service which meets the basic needs and interests of the community.
d. Assist with the supervision of after-school activities including, athletic events.
e. Plan for the coordination of cluster school and community involvement in the community school program.
f. Plan for and carry out the constant evaluation of activities and programs for the purpose of upgrading existing programs and implementing new ideas.

2. Oversee administering the local community school program activities and functions.
a. Administer the local community school program in accordance with the School Board requirements.
b. Prepare and submit reports as requested by the Director of Athletics, Student Activities, and Community Schools.
c. Employ and evaluate local community school staff members.
d. Work in a cooperative and coordinating role with cluster schools and local agencies and organizations.

3. Provide operational status updates and report to the building Principal, who is responsible for evaluations with programmatic feedback from the Director of Athletics, Student Activities, and Community Schools.
a. Complete a yearly community school plan to submit to the Principal to include course offerings which reflect the needs of the community.

4. Oversee the budgeting process for the community school program.
a. Budget and account for all funds collected for the community school program ensuring a financially self-sustaining program.
b. Prepare quarterly budget reports for the Division of Business and Finance.
c. Prepare payroll for community school instructors.
d. Maintain financial accounting records in accordance with the Board of Education policy, regulations, and procedures.
e. Make budget recommendations to the Director of Athletics, Student Activities and Community Schools.

5. Implement a driver’s education program as part of the community school program offerings.

6. Operate an approved program of community education within the constraints of local and state laws, policies, and procedures.
a. Develop long-term goals and execute plans appropriately.
b. Ensure the program goals are reflected in the Community Schools Handbook.

7. Work from 1 pm to 9 pm (Monday - Thursday) or until the community school program is completed with regular school hours on Friday for a minimum of a 40-hour work week.
a. Ensure that a certified person is present to assume this supervisory responsibility if away from the office.
b. Ensure proper coverage for providing world-class customer service if away from the office.

9. Perform other duties as assigned.

Physical Demands:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit for extended periods of time. Employee is also required to talk, hear, stand, and walk. The employee may be required to use hands to touch, handle, feel, and/or reach. Employee is occasionally required to stoop, kneel, or crouch. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
