POSITION: Recruitment Specialist

LOCATION: Central Office


Under the direction of the Chief Human Resources Officer, the Recruitment Specialist will utilize multiple sourcing methods to facilitate the identification and selection of internal and external high-quality, diverse, and talented applicants for the Dougherty County School System (DCSS). This position develops and implements effective recruitment strategies focusing on prioritized areas of district needs; acts as the liaison between the district and local colleges and universities to develop partnerships; facilitates all college and university placements; partners with Professional Learning Coordinator to support teachers and assists with new hire on-boarding.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor’s Degree in Education, Human Resources, Educational or Organizational Leadership, Business or Public Administration, or related field; Three years relevant experience; experience in K-12 Human Resources preferred; Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate. SKILLS and ABILITIES: Excellent communication (oral and written) and organizational skills are essential; Ability to work well with staff and the public; Ability to prioritize and meet deadlines; Ability to create surveys and analyze data; PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES: Assists administrators at all levels with recruitment and selection of staff; Manages a continuous recruiting program for the purpose of developing qualified applicant pools and employing sufficient numbers of qualified personnel to staff classified positions, including substitutes; Acts as the liaison between the district and local colleges and universities to develop partnerships that will promote student achievement and increase teacher content knowledge; Designs candidate experience surveys and analyzes feedback; Schedules and attends career fairs to generate qualified applicants and manages district career fairs; Provides school district information and job opportunities to potential candidates; Develops and conducts training for district supervisors to improve recruiting and hiring efficiencies and reduce turnover; Monitors recruitment budget and provides reports of expenditures to appropriate staff; Assists with the operation and execution of New Teacher/Employee Orientation as needed; Reviews data to determine recruitment schedule and key activities based on what is yielding high-quality candidates; Collaborates with the Chief Human Resources Officer to develop and improve internal pipeline programs, as necessary, to meet recruitment needs; Builds and maintains strong relationships with principals and external partners, Works collaboratively with principals to ensure 100% of teacher vacancies are filled by start of school; Reviews vacancies with Director of Human Resources to ensure that vacancies are being filled in a timely manner, and to make adjustments in recruitment events as necessary; Serves as a key leader on the Chief Human Resources Officer’s leadership team to ensure human resources is building a pool of qualified teacher candidates; Develops and monitors key team goals and metrics as it relates to recruitment and retention; Understands and applies key strategies to yield appropriate volume and quality of teacher candidates across all subject areas, including an understanding of how to recruit and attract candidates from diverse backgrounds; Provides regular reports relative to vacancies and recruitment events; Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
REPORTS TO: Chief Human Resources Officer

SALARY RANGE: Competitive salary and excellent benefits package, in accordance with the DCSS Compensation Guide.
