License and Certification Qualifications: Workers' Compensation Professional certificate preferred.

Education Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent required. Bachelor's degree in related field preferred.

Experience Qualifications: Three years administrative or equivalent acceptable experience required. Property and Casualty Insurance and Workers' Compensation experience preferred.

Skills Qualifications: Ability to read and comprehend instructions, correspondence, and memos; ability to compose business correspondence; ability to deal with problems involving concrete variables; strong computer application and computational skills; ability to detect and correct errors in standard English language usage; ability to analyze existing processes and identify areas for improvement; excellent interpersonal and human relations skills; and ability to represent Gwinnett County Public Schools in a positive and professional manner.

Primary Responsibilities: Provide general administrative and support function assistance to the Risk Management Department in the implementation of Property and Casualty Insurance programs, student insurance and accident reports, and Workers' Compensation claims.

1. Provide general administrative support for the Risk Management Department.
a. Organize and maintain efficiently the files and records of the department.
b. Prepare, maintain, distribute various reports, forms, spreadsheets, charts, presentation documents, memos, and letters as needed.
c. Initiate work orders, item orders, and/or purchase orders of varying types as needed to maintain equipment and supplies for efficient office operations.

2. Assist with claims management.
a. Monitor claims for financial data.
b. Ensure that claims are closed in a timely manner.
c. Ensure that claim payments are properly documented in the file.

3. Assist Risk Manager in coordination of GCPS's Insurance Programs
a. Complete financial and statistical data for the insurance bid process.
b. Maintain current policies, riders, and endorsements.
c. Process insurance renewals and policy premiums.

4. Assist with financial management.
a. Assist with budget preparation and other financial documents and reports as needed.
b. Provide fund management support.

5. Coordinate annual enrollment for the Student Insurance programs.

6. Coordinate renewal of insurance for Defensive Driving program and process premiums.

7. Maintain district property values and contractor's equipment list

8. Provide training and support to school and support staff to ensure their access to, and understanding of, the claims reporting system.

9. Serve as liaison to internal and external vendor/partners.

10. Perform other duties as assigned.

Physical Demands:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit for extended periods of time. The employee is also required to talk, hear, stand, and walk. The employee may be required to use hands to touch, handle, feel, and/or reach. The employee is occasionally required to stoop, kneel, or crouch. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
