License and Certification Qualifications: Valid Georgia Educational Leadership certificate required.

Education Qualifications: Specialist degree in related field required. Doctorate degree in related field preferred.

Experience Qualifications: Five years successful school or school district administrative experience with a proven record of successful supervisory/leadership experience required.

Skills Qualifications: Effective oral and written communication skills; demonstrated leadership experience/ability; excellent interpersonal and teaching skills; ability to coordinate committee work to reach system goals; ability to read, analyze, and interpret the most complex documents; ability to effectively manage complex processes and timelines; ability to manage and direct multiple programs; ability to make effective and persuasive speeches and presentations on controversial or complex topics to senior level management, public groups, and/or the Board of Education; and excellent organizational and strategic planning skills.

Primary Responsibilities: Provide leadership, direction, and continuous quality improvement to the Leadership Development department.

1. Confer and maintain effective lines of communication with the Assistant Superintendent of Leadership Development on a regular basis to ensure alignment of appropriate staff (directors and support staff) in guiding the work of Leadership Development.

2. Collaborate in the planning, organization, implementation, and evaluation of the Quality-Plus Leader Academy including the Aspiring Principal Program, Aspiring Leader Program, and District Leader Program.
a. Maintain effective lines of communication with division heads and confer on appropriate occasions to plan and deliver professional learning opportunities to support the development of school and district-level leaders.
b. Confer with the Assistant Superintendent of Leadership Development on a regular basis to ensure alignment of leadership development programs with district vision, mission, and strategic goals.
c. Remain knowledgeable of current trends in leadership development through reading, research, and professional learning.

3. Collaborate with universities to provide cohort preparation programs that are specific to the needs of Gwinnett County Public Schools for future and current school leaders.

4. Direct the planning, organizing, and implementation of various leadership development functions and events.

5. Support all school and district leaders with job-embedded professional learning opportunities.
a. Manage assigned initiatives and projects to support principals.
b. Support Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) training, new administrator training, Leader Mentoring Program, on-going professional learning for new, novice, and veteran leaders, and leadership seminars.
c. Collaborate in the planning, organizing, and implementation of the district's annual Summer Leadership Conference.

6. Collaborate and direct the continuous improvement efforts for processes specific to the Leadership Development Department.

7. Collaborate and direct the planning, organization, and implementation of internal and external leadership development initiatives to include state, regional, and national agencies and organizations.

8. Perform other duties as assigned.

Physical Demands:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit for extended periods of time. Employee is also required to talk, hear, stand, and walk. The employee may be required to use hands to touch, handle, feel, and/or reach. Employee is occasionally required to stoop, kneel, or crouch. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
