License and Certification Qualifications: Current professional HR certification issued by HRCI (PHR or SPHR) preferred.

Education Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent required. Bachelor's degree in related field preferred.

Experience Qualifications: Three years in an office/clerical environment required. Experience in human resources or employee relations preferred.

Skills Qualifications: Ability to communicate with others in an effective and tactful manner; ability to maintain a high level of professionalism and confidentiality; ability to exercise independent judgment, troubleshoot, and solve problems; ability to work accurately with employee data; ability to write routine correspondence and speak effectively with employees; strong organizational skills and the ability to multitask in a high-volume processing environment; ability to work as part of a team; flexibility and adaptability to change; ability to represent Gwinnett County Public Schools in a positive and professional manner; strong computer skills with a working knowledge of Microsoft Office required; knowledge of PeopleSoft preferred.

Primary Responsibilities: Provide assistance in the organization, coordination, and implementation of equity and compliance functions within the Office of Employee Relations.

1. Receive telephone calls for allemployee concerns and grievances relating to allegations of harassment,Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO),and Office of Civil Rights (OCR) related topics. Document phone calls onphone logs to ensure accurate intake information is accounted for withinthe Office of Employee Relations.

2. Manage concurrent tasks effectively and complete assignmentsby deadline. Enter, update, and maintain the Employee Relations Investigationsand Title IX databases.

3. Conceptual understanding of Equal Employment Opportunity(EEO), Office of Civil Rights (OCR), Americans with Disabilities Act AmendmentsAct (ADAAA), Title IX, and other law related court cases, guidelines, andGCPS policies and procedures.

4. Prepare, organize, and prioritize case files and documentationneeded for investigations. Meet all related deadlines for processing casefiles from start to finish of each open case.

5. Ensure world-class customer service is provided by the Officeof Employee Relations.
a. Responds to customer inquiries in an accurate andtimely manner.

6. Maintain and manage all incoming communication relating to localschools and division complaints, concerns, and training schedules.
a. Monitor materials produced to ensure accuracy, timeliness,and conformity to system standards.

7. Provide administrative support to Human Resources team memberswith special projects as needed.

8. Anticipate and effectively support the Office of Employee Relationsjob related needs.
a. Generate reports to provide data analysis for variousprograms.
b. Assist in preparation and facilitation of meetings andevents.

9. Handle routine matters at all times in a professional manner inthe absence of supervisor.

10. Cooperate with and demonstrate a positive relationship with division,department, and other district employees.
a. Serve as the first line customer service contact for theOffice of Employee Relations.

11. Support Executive Director and Directors within the Office ofEmployee Relations by being knowledgeable of department programs and procedures.

12. Perform other duties as assigned.

Physical Demands:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit for extended periods of time. The employee is also required to talk, hear, stand, and walk. The employee may be required to use hands to finger, handle, feel, and/or reach. The employee is occasionally required to stoop, kneel, or crouch. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
