License and Certification Qualifications: None required.

Education Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent required. Bachelor's degree in related field preferred.

Experience Qualifications: Three years of experience designing and developing data reporting solutions and working with student information systems required. Experience using Synergy preferred.

Skills Qualifications: High degree of skill in oral and written communications; high degree of skill in organization and problem-solving; exceptional ability to communicate and work with others in an effective manner; knowledge of the operation and maintenance of student information systems with an emphasis on state and federal reporting guidelines and requirements; capable of working under pressure and deadlines; ability to conceptualize abstract concepts and organize them into an operational design; ability to analyze existing processes and identify areas for improvement; and ability to work across functional boundaries and interact with employees at all levels of the organization.

Primary Responsibilities: Responsible for managing federal and state data reporting for Gwinnett County Public Schools (GCPS) to ensure regulatory compliance and managing student information applications to collect and validate data.


1. Manage daily student data reporting and errorvalidation processes to ensure timely and accurate delivery of major stateand federal reporting projects, including Georgia statewide student informationsystem reporting, annual College and Career Ready Performance Index (CCRPI)review, and annual Office of Civil Rights reporting.

2. Participate in the development of policiesand procedures pertaining to state and federal student data reporting.

3. Oversee preparation of reports for monitoringstudent information system processes across various departments to ensureproper data input and validation procedures.

4. Manage application requirement specificationsand testing to view, analyze, and transmit student data to federal andstate data collection agencies and collaborate with divisional applicationdesigners and developers to assure quality of transmissions and externalreports.

5. Manage development and maintenance of necessarytraining for school and central office staff pertaining to student datacollection for regulatory purposes.

6. Manage the planning, testing, and deliveryof student information applications to collect and validate data requiredfor federal and state reporting.

7. Serve as the liaison between departmentsacross the district to verify student information system requirements andreporting are satisfied.

8. Develop and maintain working understandingof GCPS policies, Department of Education Board rules, procedural guidelines,and state data layout definitions which define student information reportingrequirements, including Georgia statewide student information system guidelines,Georgia Full-Time Equivalent (FTE) calculations, and reporting requirements,Georgia CCRPI rules and calculations, Federal Office of Civil Rights reporting,and other regulatory rulings guiding student information processes andprocedures.

9. Participate in local and state training classesand user groups to remain current on reporting requirements and best practices.

10. Perform other duties as assigned.

The employee may be required to use hands to finger, handle, feel, and/or reach. The employee is occasionally required to stoop, kneel, or crouch. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
