License and Certification Qualifications: None required.

Education Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent required.

Experience Qualifications: Two years in an office/clerical environment required. Experience in customer service preferred.

Skills Qualifications: Effective communication skills; ability to follow oral and written instructions; knowledge of transportation policies and procedures; ability to respond to inquiries and requests from internal and external customers; efficient computer and office skills; and ability to act as a representative of Gwinnett County Public Schools.

Primary Responsibilities: Process applications for bus manager/monitor applicants and provide administrative support for work-related injury and personal illness/injury management.

1. Review applications for bus manager and bus monitor positions in the district.

2. Assist with the work-related injury process.

3. Contact applicants and schedule interview meetings and schedule study sessions as needed.

4. Assist with the personal illness and injury process.

5. Hold information meetings, interview applicants, and verify references.

6. Establish and manage the light duty work program.

7. Run the Motor Vehicle Reports for the Transportation Department.

8. Manage the Annual Bus Manager and Department of Transportation (DOT) physicals.

9. Schedule the new hire physicals and fingerprinting sessions.

10. Create job offers in PeopleSoft and create and maintain personnel files.

11. Maintain statistics on recruiting tools and efforts for the Transportation Department.

12. Participate at various job fair and expositions to recruit bus managers and bus monitors.

13. Perform other duties as assigned.

Physical Demands:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit for extended periods of time. The employee is also required to talk, hear, stand, and walk. The employee may be required to use hands to finger, handle, feel, and/or reach. The employee is occasionally required to stoop, kneel, or crouch. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
